The essentials
This policy covers the Post Saver iPhone app, its share extension and widgets, and the official website at postsaver.pages.dev. Post Saver is developed by Jinping Lu.
Post Saver does not require an account, run its own service to store your saved collection, or include advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not sell your saved content. Network access is still needed for the posts, media, and websites you choose to open.
Data on your device
The app stores saved post text, author information, source URLs, post dates, media references, downloaded images, and app preferences locally. Its share extension and widgets use an Apple App Group to access the same local collection.
Searching your collection is performed locally. Videos are streamed or downloaded on demand; Post Saver does not maintain an offline video library. A temporary video file may be created when you export a supported video to Photos.
Post Saver does not provide its own cloud sync service. Local app data may be included in backups managed by Apple, depending on your device and backup settings.
Network requests and third-party websites
When you save or refresh a post, load media, or play a video, the app makes requests to X, Threads, or their media delivery services. Those services can receive normal connection information, such as your IP address, the requested URL, and technical request information. Their availability and privacy practices are outside our control.
The Original view loads an official platform embed. It uses a non-persistent WebKit data store, but the platform may still process network information and use temporary browser storage while the embed is open.
The in-app browser uses WebKit's default persistent data store. Websites opened there may store cookies, website data, or login sessions on your device. If you choose to sign in, you submit that information to the website; Post Saver does not require your social account credentials to save supported public posts.
Third-party policies apply to those services: X Privacy Policy, Meta Privacy Policy, and Apple Privacy Policy.
Permissions and clipboard access
Photos
Post Saver requests permission to add to your photo library when you choose to save an image or video. It does not need access to browse your existing photo library for this operation. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings.
Clipboard
The app uses the system paste control or reads a copied link when you explicitly invoke a paste or Quick Save action. It may ask iOS whether the clipboard contains a link to show a relevant prompt, without reading the clipboard's contents at that stage. It does not send your general clipboard contents to us.
Sharing
When you copy, export, or share saved content, you choose the destination. The receiving app or service handles that content under its own terms and privacy policy.
Your choices and data retention
Saved posts and downloaded images stay in the app until you delete them. You can remove individual posts or use Settings → Clear All Data to remove your saved collection and its downloaded media from the app.
Clearing saved posts does not remove copies you exported to Photos, content shared to another app, device backups, or cookies and website data held by the in-app browser. Manage exported copies and backups through the relevant apps and Apple settings. Post Saver currently has no separate in-app control to clear browser website data.
Because we do not hold your saved collection on a developer-operated server, we cannot retrieve or restore it for you. Contact us if you need help understanding how to manage your local data.
This website
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. We do not add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or cookies to these pages. Images, styles, and scripts are served from this site's own origin.
Cloudflare processes technical request information, including IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect the website. Its handling of this information is described in the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
The example Copy text button writes the displayed sample to your clipboard only when you press it. It does not read your clipboard. Contact links open your chosen email app; this website does not collect form submissions.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include. We use it to respond to your request and keep it only as needed for support or applicable obligations. Please avoid sending passwords, account tokens, or sensitive saved content.
Children
Post Saver is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Post Saver account or collection service. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a support message, contact us so we can address it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or website changes. The current version will be published here with an updated effective date. Material changes will be communicated as required by applicable law.
